FOL-4603: Content and Methods for Teaching World Languages at Mid/Sec Level (3 hours)

This course develops the pre-service teacher's understanding of world languages content and the methodology necessary to teach middle and high school students. Course conducted in Spanish. Cross-listed: EDSC-4603. Field experience: 10 hours required in the Middle/Secondary level. Fee: None. Prerequisite: C or higher in EDSC-3600 and acceptance to Teacher Candidacy. Special permission required for students not enrolled in the CUC PK-12 Spanish Education Program. Offered: Fall.

FOL-4613: Content and Methods for Teaching World Languages at the PK-Elementary Level (3 hours)

This course develops the pre-service teacher’s understanding of world languages content and the methodology necessary to teach PK through elementary school students. Cross-Listed: EDKS-4613. Field Experience: 12 hours in the Elementary setting. Fee: None. Prerequisite: C or higher in EDSC-3600 and acceptance to Teacher Candidacy. Special permission required for students not enrolled in the CUC PK-12 Spanish Education Program. Offered: Spring.

FOL-4910: Special Topics: Foreign Language (4 hours)

An in-depth study of a topic relevant to a current topic in the discipline or a topic of interest that is not addressed in other departmental courses. The course may be repeated for credit so long as the topic is different.

FOL-4950: Independent Study in Foreign Language (1-6 hours)
